Monique McWhite

I am a Virginia Beach native and professional oil painter whose work is shaped by a lifelong relationship with place, light, and observation. Raised along the coast, the presence of water and changing atmosphere continues to influence my work, though my subject matter is not limited to any one location or theme.

I hold a B.F.A. in Painting and Printmaking from the VCU School of the Arts. My practice centers on creating original oil paintings that explore stillness, memory, and presence through landscapes, architectural studies, and other subjects of personal significance.

Each painting is developed slowly and intentionally, balancing structure with emotion. My focus is on producing original work for gallery exhibition and collection.
